Immaculate Pre-K Four is so much fun, we laugh, we sing, we play and we learn with everyone! There are many exciting things that happen in Pre-K Four. We welcome Mystery Readers. We enjoy festivals to celebrate different holidays throughout the year. The children learn through teacher and student directed centers where they develop a sense of independence.
The four-year old child is welcomed into a happy program whose goal is to develop a positive self-image where he/she experiences unconditional acceptance. Each child is viewed as a Child of God who deserves to be loved, nurtured, and guided on the path to success. The program’s philosophy is to plan open-ended learning experiences with tasks that are developmentally appropriate. The four-year old child learns how to play with his/her peers and to understand the concept of cooperation. He/she is encouraged to participate in group interaction in order to develop this social skill.
The program establishes routines, sets limits and provides gentle but consistent discipline. Activities vary in length of time, provide opportunities to develop fine motor skills as well as math and reading readiness. The children are also afforded the time to develop large motor skills through rhythmic activities such as dancing, skipping and running.
Four-year olds are very verbal and have a desire to interact with those around them. They are encouraged to participate in conversations and are taught how to develop the skill of listening to each other.
