Since I was a young girl, becoming a teacher was always my dream job. Hello, my name is Mrs. Janine Dalconzo and I have been in the teaching profession for over 20 years. My husband, children, and I live in Jackson, NJ - an area that provides much serenity and beauty. Before coming to ICS, I taught for the NYC Board of Education and the Jackson Township Department of Education. This is my third year at Immaculate Conception School and I love the sense of community and school unity. Previously, I was a teacher in the Preschool program and now this year, I am proudly teaching second grade! Every day at Immaculate Conception School is filled with learning and laughter - and it isn't just the students laughing and learning, I am too!!
Our Learning
Literacy: Our Reading program, Wonders, features stories that focus on families and friendships. It is a comprehensive reading and language arts program that truly stimulates learning. We will be using the SmartBoard to enhance our learning with supporting videos and games. Math: Our Mathematics program, Progress in Mathematics, teaches us valuable learning strategies for performing mathematical processes as well as how to use math tools to aid in our understanding. Religion: Our Religion program, We Believe, teaches us about Jesus, The Catholic Church and The Sacraments. Science: Our Science program, Fusion, starts by teaching us all about what it means to be a scientist as we explore the scientific method. We, then, explore other concepts like technology and our world, animals, plants, the Solar System, and the weather. We will use the scientific skills we learn to perform exciting Science experiments. Social Studies: Our Social Studies program, my World, teaches us about our community, our country, celebrating our traditions and all about our nation both past and present.
