I graduated from Seton Hall University with a degree in Elementary Education and English. I have been a CCD teacher here at ICS for over 20 years. I was a Kindergarten teacher for 15 years and have been teaching 3rd grade at ICS for the last 8 years. I love teaching and look foward to working with your children everyday.
February was sure full of activities! We had fun during Catholic Schools Week. We had a great time from STEM Day to Movie Day to the Walk-a-Thon and more. We also enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day. Thank you to our class moms for helping to provide us various Valentine goodies and a craft. We also learned about Groundhog Day and Presidents Day. In Math, we have finished up our geometry chapter and have moved on to our chapter about different kinds of charts and graphs. Please, however, continue working on memorizing multiplication and division facts at home. Don't forget to work on Splashlearn, Xtra Math, and multiplication.com. In Reading, we have been learning about the author's point of view, finding text evidence, cause and effect, similarities and differences, the main idea of a story and the supporting details. In Grammar, we have been learning about linking verbs, helping verbs, punctuation, combining sentences, quotation marks, and action verbs. We wrote about what love means to us. We also wrote a new ending to the Stone Soup story we read in our reading books. We are continuing to work on our cursive skills. In Social Studies, we have been learning about citizenship. We learned about important people in history who made a difference in our country. Next we will be learning about how our nation grew and the changes that were happening. In Science, we have been learning about plant and animal ecosystems. Now we are learning about changes to Earth's surface. In Religion, we learned about Saint Valentine, Saint Blaise, and Saint Bernadette. We also learned about parishes and how to serve our Church. We reviewed the importance of Advent and Christmas. We will soon be learning about Lent and Easter.
