The program for three-year olds provides a warm, friendly environment where children are given genuine praise and encouragement, in order to develop their self-esteem. Each child is viewed as a Child of God who deserves to be loved, nurtured, and guided on the path to success. Routines are established so the need for consistency and limit setting is met. He/she is offered learning opportunities with a hands-on approach, and is encouraged to act out family roles through creative play. Each is provided with space for individual activities as well as the opportunity to learn to play with others.
In order to develop large motor skills, the children are allowed time for running, throwing, and dancing. Lessons are short with room for freedom of movement. The three year old child’s learning is through concrete goals rather than abstract ones. Manipulatives and kinesthetic activities provide opportunities to learn through doing and tactile involvement.
Since three-year old children are talkative in a familiar environment, they are encourage to tell stories and share experiences with everyone in the classroom. Through discussion and group interaction they are taught how to develop problem solving techniques.
